It’s time to journey back to the Wizarding World with none other than Daniel Radcliffe himself, as he and a number of other celebrities will be taking turns to read all 17 chapters of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, as part of the Harry Potter at Home initiative.
Daniel Radcliffe, who famously portrayed the bespectacled Harry Potter in all eight Harry Potter films will finally be returning to the series after almost a decade with the last film in the franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2.
Joining him are fellow Harry Potter stars from Fantastic Beasts – Claudia Kim and Eddie Redmayne, as well as Noma Dumezweni, who played Hermione Granger in the Broadway show Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
Celebrities outside of the Wizarding World such as David Beckham and Dakota Fanning will also be lending their voices to the initiative.
The Harry Potter at Home initiative was made in an effort to help keep children entertained while they are stuck at home due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
You can now watch Radcliffe read the first chapter of Philosopher’s Stone, titled The Boy Who Lived on J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World website (it’s free, don’t worry), or listen to it as a podcast on Spotify.
More chapters will be released each week till the end of June.
