Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold Gaming Test – Zenless Zone Zero, Genshin Impact, COD: Warzone Mobile & PUBG

Foldable devices may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but there’s no denying its advantageous edge when it comes to both work and play. Striking a balance between the portable form of traditional smartphones and the increased screen estate of a tablet, these hybrid offerings deliver versatility in spades for those who can harness their full potential.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is the latest to join the, well, fold, which has steadily grown from a sparse selection to an array in recent years. Like the Pixel 9 flagship series, the Google Tensor G4 processor serves as its main driver here, packing extra oomph for day-to-day performance.

The 6.3-inch Actua OLED external display is more than enough for typical use case scenarios in clamshell form, offering a 1,080 x 2,424 resolution and a variable refresh rate of 60 to 120 Hz. But more viewing glory awaits when the device is fully unfolded, revealing an 8-inch Super Actua Flex OLED Display, a 2,076 x 2,152 resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate.

With the hardware upgrade and visual prowess, Google’s latest is well-equipped to handle everything that stands in its way, from everyday productivity to mobile gaming – on paper, at least. To see how well it takes to the real world, the device was put through its paces with four different titles: Zenless Zone Zero, Genshin Impact, Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile, and PUBG Mobile

Check out how it runs in the video above, covering starting temperatures, performance indicators, and cooling capabilities. The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold starts from S$2,399, and will only be available in Obsidian in Singapore.
