As with the previous release, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra has made its way around the world landing in Singapore, and is available for pre-orders.
Following in the footsteps of the Xiaomi 13 Pro, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is a step higher in a range of mobile phones with cameras co-engineered with Leica. In 2022, the previous iteration, the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, saw limited release worldwide despite the hype and fanfare. Bolstered by the response, the Chinese company has been rolling out the top-tier device in more markets globally.
Available from 1 July, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra commands a price tag of S$1,899 for the 12GB RAM / 512 GB storage model. Compared to the Xiaomi 13 Pro, which costs S$1,699, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra doesn’t cost that much more.
The device comes with a large 6.73-inch LTPO OLED WQHD+ screen that can adjust its refresh rate from to 120Hz. It offers a peak brightness of 2600nits and high brightness of 1300nits. A layer of durable Corning Gorilla Glass Victus safeguards the front display
As with most flagships in 2023, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra operates on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset.
The standout feature of the phone lies in its camera capabilities. Similar to the Xiaomi 12S Ultra, it incorporates a 1-inch 50MP Sony IMX989 23mm primary sensor. However, this time it introduces a variable aperture lens that can switch between f/1.9 and f/4.0. The remaining three cameras utilize Sony’s 50MP IMX858 sensors. These include a 12mm ultra-wide-angle f/1.8 camera, a 75mm telephoto f/1.8 camera, and a 120mm super-telephoto f/3.0 camera. The telephoto setup enables 5x optical zoom and up to 120x digital zoom. Both the main and telephoto cameras are equipped with optical image stabilization for improved image quality.
In terms of selfies, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra features a 32MP front-facing camera positioned within a punch-hole on the display.
Preorders start from 24 to 30 June with free premium gifts worth up to S$579 in store. The premium gifts include a Xiaomi 50W charging stand, a Xiaomi 13 Ultra professional photography set, a 6-month 100GB Google One storage plan, 1+1 year extended warranty and 3 months of YouTube Premium.
