A light-up Bat-Signal AirPods Case and 3D Batmobile iPhone Case? Why not?

The post CASETiFY Celebrates 85 Years Of Batman With 1989 Batmobile iPhone And Bat-Signal AirPods Cases appeared first on Geek Culture.

Yes, the Dark Knight is 85 years old this year, and CASETiFY is celebrating Batman’s 85th Anniversary with a collaboration that features unique designs and elements from the comics and films, especially the iconic 1989 movie. The Caped Crusader first appeared in 1939’s Detective Comics #27 and since then, Batman has stood as a symbol of determination, courage, and justice to generations of fans for 85 years.

The Batman collection spans across CASETiFY’s range of Impact, Mirror, Clear, Impact Ring Stand, Bounce, and Ultra Bounce Cases available for iPhone, Samsung, and Google devices. As well as various compatible accessories for AirPods, AirPods Pro, Apple Watch bands, wireless chargers, grip stands, cardholder stands, power banks, charging stands, phone straps, MacBook and iPad.

One of the most notable standouts from this collection is the iconic Bat-Signal Collectible AirPods Case. The Bat-Signal Case resembles the iconic Bat-Signal used by the Gotham City officials and even lights up! It also features 1989’s Batman perched atop.

The second notable standout is none other than a 1989 Batmobile Phone Case that is shaped like Batman’s iconic Batmobile from Tim Burton’s 1989 film. Bulky and impractical as it is, it is bound to be a fun conversation piece and geeking out with fellow Batman fans. The front hood of the Batmobile flips open to uncover the camera lenses so you can take photos. The Batmobile is made of durable resin with intricate small metal parts. It also comes with an Impact Case that can be easily detached from the bottom of the Batmobile with two clicks.

The Batmobile Case will only be available exclusively for the iPhone 15 Pro / Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro / Pro Max and in very limited quantities (only 50 pieces), on a first-come-first-served basis. And here’s the final kicker, it costs a whopping US$2,000 (S$2,841)! The collectible case also includes a rare 1/50 limited edition card, specially crafted for every die-hard Batman fan.

The Batman CASETiFY collection launches worldwide on casetify.com on 16th October. It will be available for purchase online, via the CASETiFY Co-Lab app, and at CASETiFY Studio locations. However, fans can now sign up for priority access to the products ahead of its launch.

Matchbox Movie John Cena

The announcement of a live-action Matchbox movie featuring Mattel’s die-cast toy cars and stunt-action movie director Sam Hargrave (Extraction) at the helm would warrant a die-hard cast. Thus, it would be no surprise WWE wrestler-turned-Hollywood actor John Cena (Peacemaker, The Suicide Squad) would star in the film.

The casting decision seems obvious — the Matchbox brand of toy cars appeals to the family (mostly focused on children); Hargrave is known for his daredevil stunts in his Extraction movies and thus appeals to action-seekers (who are mostly adults), and Cena? He sits comfortably in the Venn diagram of both sides as a veteran of car action films centred around the theme of ‘family’ (who would also appeal to the child in our hearts.).

While little is known about the plot, it’s safe to say the movie will keep audiences on the edge of their seats while keeping things as wholesome as possible. Matchbox is being produced by Skydance’s David Ellison (Top Gun: Maverick), comedian Dana Goldberg, Don Granger (Reacher), and Mattel Film’s President Robbie Brenner. Meanwhile, David Coggeshall (The Family Plan) and Jonathan Trooper (The Adam Project) are working on the script.

With the cast and production team for Matchbox growing, so do the stakes and expectations of viewers following the phenomenal box office success that is Barbie. Moreover, Apple Original Films has acquired the rights to Matchbox, which means it will be screened theatrically before it lands exclusively on Apple TV+.

No one knows when Matchbox will hit the silver screen, but it probably won’t be too soon, as Mattel has its hands full with other films like a Hot Wheels movie and another one featuring the iconic card game UNO.

The long-running legacy of Pokémon has seen countless collaborations over the years, and 7-Eleven certainly isn’t immune to its charm. As part of its latest Shop and Earn Stamps programme, the convenience store chain is launching a new themed collection from 25 September to 19 November in Singapore, starting with 3D Pokémon Builders.

Measuring 5cm tall each, these cardboard figures are constructed out of a kit that includes an instruction sheet and one stamp, used to trade for exclusive items of one’s choice. Customers can obtain a builder set for just S$1 with a purchase of any item, redeem it with 100 yuu points, or purchase any qualifying product to get two packs at S$1.

Pokémon X 7-Eleven Singapore Collection (3)

A total of 30 different designs will be available, each coming in a blind pack. The full range spans 11 elemental types, including Electric, Fire, Water, Grass, and more, with beloved Gen 1 starters, iconic Legendaries such as Mewtwo and Mew, and newer critters like Pawmi and Fidough filling out the roster. For fans with a lucky touch, keep an eye out for five ultra-rare builders with metallic foil accents, featuring Pikachu, Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle and Mewtwo.

Once collected, the builders can be stored in the Poké Ball Collector’s Kit. Measuring 7cm tall and 26cm wide, it also doubles as an organiser for various objects and boasts 30 custom-fit slots. The dual-purpose storage kit retails for S$29.90, requiring 200 yuu points or 10 stamps and an accompanying top-up of S$15.90 for redemption.

To complete the Pokémon trainer look, 7-Eleven is adding Jigglypuff and Bulbasaur-inspired backpacks into the mix, joining the All-Star Backpack design sporting Eevee, other fan-favourites, and the iconic Poké Balls. The former two are equipped with two shoulder straps that can be placed inside to transform the bag into a soft plushie, while the All-Star Backpack ships with adjustable straps and water-resistant material.

Accessories-wise, customers can expect a reversible bucket hat and a cardholder. The 2-in-1 headwear allows for an interchangeable look between a navy blue colourway or a beige alternative showing Pikachu holding hands with Pichu; the latter, meanwhile, comes decked out in a yellow lanyard and Pokéball design (Charizard card not included).

The Pokémon X 7-Eleven collection will run from 25 September to 19 November, with the redemption period ending on 26 November. Here’s a quick look at the mechanics and pricing information for the accessories and backpacks:

Blokees Transformers Shining Version 02 Blind Box Figures – Unboxing https://geekculture.co/blokees-transformers-shining-version-02-blind-box-figures-unboxing/ Mon, 16 Sep 2024 10:02:46 +0000 https://geekculture.co/?p=301716

Light 'em up!

The post Blokees Transformers Shining Version 02 Blind Box Figures – Unboxing appeared first on Geek Culture.

Everyone loves the thrill of blind box figures, and it’s even better when the figures are of high-quality build and highly poseable. Blokees is one such toy maker. Over the years they have released a significant number of intricately detailed Blokees Transformers figures based on the G1 series from the ’80s.

Due to their highly stylised and poseable nature, don’t expect them to be transformable though. The second series in their “Shining Version” comprises of Optimus Prime (inspired from the retro original G1 Optimus Prime Takara Tomy toy released in 1985), Soundwave, Grimlock. Beachcomber, Sideswipe and Sunstorm.

Each figure comes with a light-up feature, activated with a simple tap of its body. Depending on the character, either the eyes or eyes and chest illuminates. Various accessories are also included, such as Soundwave’s cassettes Ravage and Laserbeak, weapons, blast effects, as well as Energon cubes and display stands (yellow for Autobots and purple for Decepticons). Each figure also comes with swappable hands (open and closed). Beachcomber even has an extra gold hand, as seen in 1985’s G1 TV series “The Golden Lagoon” episode.

Best of all, there are no worries of stickers peeling over time as all the parts are all beautifully printed. Have a look at the close-up shots below to see just how sharp the prints are on each figure. Additionally, as with any blind box collection, there is also a 1/36 chance of obtaining a secret Optimus Prime in a metallic finish.

The Blokees Transformers Shining Version 01 is out now in Singapore, retailing at S$14.90 per blind box figure. Shining Version 02 is expected to roll out in October for the same price across toy retailers such as Toys “R” Us, Gift Greetings and Popular Book stores.

A love letter to the franchise, through and through.

The post Studio Trigger X ‘Transformers’ Animated Special Is A Glorious Tribute To 40 Years Of Rolling Out appeared first on Geek Culture.

]]>

Following a tantalising glimpse of an anime-style Transformers project, Studio Trigger (Delicious in Dungeon, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners) has released a full look at the stylish makeover. A love letter to the long-running franchise through and through, the 40th-anniversary special features key characters across every generation, including fan-favourite Autobots like Optimus Prime, as heroes.

More notably, the short is helmed by Akira Amemiya, the creative force behind the Gridman reboot SSS.Gridman. The director served as both episode and animation director and also worked on storyboarding. Before that, he did a short animated tribute for Gridman as part of the Japan Animator Expo back in 2018.

The official YouTube link is unfortunately region-locked to Japan, which doesn’t come as a surprise. However, Studio Trigger has posted some screenshots on X/Twitter, showing off the Transformers robots in all their striking splendour. With Bump of Chicken’s song Mayday — originally released in 2007 — playing in the background, the animated special certainly pays a fitting and gorgeous homage to the franchise.

Transformers is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary, with plenty of plans lined up for 2024 and beyond. Transformers One has opened in theatres, bringing the tragic relationship between Optimus and Megatron to the big screen. A Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover movie is also rolling out at Paramount, while hero shooter Overwatch 2 launched a Transformers tie-up in July. More recently, Takara Tomy announced an epic crossover featuring iconic franchises such as Transformers, Godzilla, Monster Hunter, Zoids, and Macross.

‘Stardew Valley’ Fan Recreates Pelican Town With Lego Bricks https://geekculture.co/stardew-valley-fan-recreates-pelican-town-with-lego-bricks/ Thu, 12 Sep 2024 02:23:28 +0000 https://geekculture.co/?p=301415

A monumental Lego recreation that captures every nook and cranny of Stardew Valley.

The post ‘Stardew Valley’ Fan Recreates Pelican Town With Lego Bricks appeared first on Geek Culture.

]]>

The charming world of Stardew Valley has been brought to life in the form of a jaw-dropping Lego replica, thanks to the efforts of Steve Jensen, both a dedicated Stardew Valley and Lego fan. Jensen unveiled his massive creation at BrickCon, the Lego convention held in Washington, and it’s a pixel-perfect tribute to the beloved 2014 farming sim.

Jensen’s elaborate Lego diorama features a meticulous recreation of Stardew Valley‘s Pelican Town, complete with the iconic Jojo Mart, Lego versions of the game’s colourful NPCs and their homes, the overgrown Community Centre, and even the game’s signature logo. The attention to detail in this build is truly impressive.

The painstakingly crafted Lego model earned Jensen the People’s Choice Award at BrickCon. But the real twist came when Stardew Valley’s creator, Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone, made an unexpected appearance at the convention. Barone, who lives in Washington, stopped by to congratulate Jensen and snap a few photos with him.

“Guess who stopped by Saturday afternoon (before any awards had happened)?” Jensen shared on Instagram. “It’s ok if you don’t recognize him… I didn’t either. And yes, I did a brief fan-boy moment when Concerned Ape introduced himself!!! Naturally, I brought him ‘backstage’ for a closer look (…and this pic)!!”

Jensen, who co-owns Bricks & Minifigs Monroe, a Lego and figurine store in Monroe, Washington, was thrilled to celebrate his win with his colleagues. There’s even a hint that Jensen’s creation might be displayed in the store soon.

A decade after its release, Stardew Valley remains popular as ever thanks to its many updates, including the 1.6 update which introduced a plethora of new features and broke records on Steam.

Fuelling the (all)spark in 440 fans, two weeks before the actual release.

The post ‘Transformers One’ Early IMAX Fan Screening Roll Out Reignites Passion For 440 Lucky Fans appeared first on Geek Culture.

]]>

Is it a sequel, a reboot, or something much more than meets the eye? For the 440 lucky Transformers fans gathered at Shaw Theatres IMAX Waterway Point on Friday, 30 August for an exclusive early IMAX screening of Transformers One, two weeks prior to its official release.

This event, hosted by Geek Culture (the region’s leading online entertainment, tech and gaming media) and UIP Singapore, marked a monumental occasion as it not only celebrated the first animated Transformers movie in nearly 40 years, it allowed parents who grew up on the 1986 film, Transformers: The Movie, to now bring their children to experience the same with Transformers One.

The air crackled with anticipation as attendees, many sporting their favourite Transformers gear (one even brought his Universal Studios Beijing-exclusive Grimlock popcorn bucket), eagerly awaited a glimpse into the untold origin story of Optimus Prime and Megatron.

Fans of the franchise were treated not only to an advanced viewing of the film, but also to an immersive fan experience that included photo ops with life-size statues of beloved characters such as Orion Pax (Optimus Prime), D-16 (Megatron), B-127 (Bumblebee), and Elita-1.

The event didn’t just stop at the screening; attendees were engaged with in-hall trivia activities where they could win a plethora of prizes from Hasbro Singapore, Blokees, and The Falcon’s Hangar, totalling over S$4,000 in value. Prizes ranged from exclusive action figures and play sets to limited edition collectibles, including the biggest toy, a Transformers Generations Titans Return – Fortress Maximus worth S$320, fuelling the passion of every fan in attendance.

And if that wasn’t exciting enough, everyone even walked away with a swag bag packed with goodies, including exclusive collector’s prints, a Transformers Run 2024 race pass, and a Blokees Transformers figure. The first 50 fans at each screening also scored an additional Blokees Sharkticon Storage Box Figure!

But the real treat is the film itself. Transformers One dives deep into the untold origin story of Orion Pax and D-16, chronicling their evolution from comrades to leaders of opposing factions in the Cybertronian war. The film explores the previously referenced but untold story around their bond and eventual fallout, setting the stage for their iconic roles as Optimus Prime and Megatron. Boasting a star-studded voice cast featuring Chris Hemsworth as Orion Pax/Optimus Prime, Brian Tyree Henry as D-16/Megatron, Scarlett Johansson as Elita-1, Keegan-Michael Key as B-127/Bumblebee, Steve Buscemi as Starscream, Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion, and Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, the film brings these iconic characters to life in a whole new way.

For many fans, the screening was a nostalgic trip down memory lane, evoking memories of the classic 1986 animated film. But it was also a glimpse into a promising future for the Transformers franchise, one filled with exciting new stories and stunning visuals. As the credits rolled and the lights came up, it was clear that Transformers One had reignited the spark in the hearts of fans, young and old. This special fan screening was more than just an early look at a movie, it was also a celebration of a legacy that continues to inspire and entertain generations.

The post Transformers Collide With Godzilla, Monster Hunter, Macross & Zoids In Epic Takara Tomy Crossover appeared first on Geek Culture.

]]>

T-Spark recently unveiled a thrilling YouTube video that has set the fandom abuzz with its announcement of upcoming epic Takara Tomy crossovers featuring iconic franchises such as Transformers, Godzilla, Monster Hunter, Zoids, and Macross. These crossovers are slated for release towards the end of 2024 and into 2025.

The highlight of the video is the introduction of the Synergenex series by Takara Tomy, a new line dedicated to creating crossover figures with various well-known brands. This initiative is not entirely new, as Takara Tomy has previously released crossover figures with iconic franchises like Jurassic Park, Top Gun, and Back To The Future. However, the Synergenex series aims to elevate the concept with more ambitious collaborations.

The teaser released by Takara Tomy showcases several exciting combinations, including a Zoids x Transformers collaboration, which features Optimus Prime transforming into a Shield Liger. It also previews the Godzilla x Transformers crossover, where Megatron morphs into the giant atomic lizard to confront a Mecha Godzilla Prime.

Adding to the excitement, the video briefly flashed the Monster Hunter logo alongside the Transformers 40th-anniversary symbol, teasing yet another intriguing partnership. While specific details were not disclosed, the possibilities of what such a crossover could entail are tantalising for fans.

Moreover, a surprising addition to the lineup is a collaboration between Macross 7 and Transformers. This pairing is particularly notable considering the historical connection between the Transformers character Jetfire and the Macross transforming jets.

With these announcements, 2025 is shaping up to be an exhilarating year for fans of Takara Tomy, Transformers, Godzilla, Zoids, Macross, and Monster Hunter, as well as for those who follow the other involved franchises. The synergy between these beloved universes promises to bring fresh and innovative additions to the collectibles market, merging nostalgia with cutting-edge design to thrill collectors and enthusiasts worldwide.

In a delightful collaboration, Genshin Impact has teamed up with Pop Mart to unveil an exclusive line of mini figurines, just in time for the annual Genshin Impact☆FES in Shanghai, China. This new collection, aptly named Dress-Up Dreams, features 12 cherished characters from the popular game, all styled in casual wear and ready to be discovered by fans.

The partnership between the hit game developed by HoYoverse and the collectable giant was first announced through a Weibo post by user Paimon’s Worknotes. The collection will debut at the Genshin Impact☆FES, which takes place from 15 to 18 August at the expansive Shanghai National Convention and Exhibition Center.

Characters featured in the Dress-Up Dreams collection include fan favourites such as Barbara, Xiangling, Xingqiu, Jean, Venti, Childe, Albedo, Ganyu, Hu Tao, Yoimiya, Thoma, and Gorou. The secret figurines have not been confirmed as of yet. Each figurine captures the characters’ essence in various laid-back outfits designed under the theme ‘Costume Fantasy’. The figurines themselves are crafted in the ‘Chibi’ style, a hallmark of Pop Mart’s design that emphasises cuteness and collectibility.

Pop Mart, known globally for its influence on pop culture and entertainment, specialises in designer toys that are often sold in blind boxes. This method introduces an element of surprise with each purchase.

Although the unveiling has stirred considerable excitement, details about the global availability of the Dress-Up Dreams collection remain scarce, making international fans particularly keen on learning how they can add these exclusive items to their own collections. Thankfully, for those outside of China, availability on platforms like Pop Mart’s Aliexpress store might offer a chance to secure these collectables.

As anticipation builds, fans of Genshin Impact around the world are eagerly awaiting further announcements that could bring these charming Pop Mart figurines beyond the borders of China and into the hands of global collectors.
