The Bleach manga covers are no stranger to decking its characters out in fashionable wear (or “drip”, as modern lingo would call it), so it’s only apt that the beloved series is celebrating its 20th anniversary with some sneaker flair. Japanese footwear brand Asics has joined forces with Tite Kubo’s anime classic to roll out a limited edition collaboration honouring two of its main characters, Ichigo Kurosaki and Renji Abarai.

Represented on the GT-2160, the former-themed kicks tout his signature palette of orange, black, and white. The spine of the heel is furnished with the Substitute Shinigami emblem, while the kanji spelling out his name can be found right next to it on the left-footed fit. On the inside is the Bleach branding, printed on the tongue.

Similarly, the Gel-NYC silhouette takes after Renji’s aesthetics. The red-and-black colourway is accompanied by a white sole and his name on the side of the left shoe, alongside the characters for the Sixth Division on the foxing. Both pairs of sneakers will be released in special packaging and men’s sizing, with prices ranging from US$145 to US$165.

The ASICS X Bleach collection launches sometime this holiday season, and can be purchased via Foot Locker and Champs Sports online and in-store. There’s no word on whether it will eventually be available outside of the U.S., but it’s set to debut at New York Comic Con, running from 17 to 20 October. It’s unclear if attendees will be able to buy the sneakers then, however.

This collaboration comes as Part 3 of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, subtitled The Conflict, kicked off on 5 October. The anime’s first season premiered in October 2022, marking a welcome return after a ten-year hiatus and exciting fans with a brand-new, visually arresting art style. It adapts the final arc of the manga, which spans volumes 55 to 74, and will wrap up with four non-consecutive cours (quarters of a year).

Other 20th anniversary projects include a celebratory video that revisits iconic scenes from the original anime in the stylish, modern style the revival series is known for, and the forthcoming Bleach: Rebirth of Souls fighting game, due out in 2025.

The ASICS X Bleach collection will hit the streets when Holiday 2024 rolls around.

Reebok and Alien share a longstanding history of collaboration dating back to the 1986 Aliens movie where Ellen Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) was seen wearing a pair of iconic “Alien Stomper” sneakers. Both collaborated in 2017 for the 30th anniversary of Aliens with a 2-pack “Final Battle” Alien vs Power Loader stompers, as well as Alien Day celebration releases of Colonial Marines stompers in 2019 and Bishop stompers in 2020.

This year, with the release of Alien: Romulus, the new protagonist, Rain Carradine (Cailee Spaeny) is once again seen wearing a pair of Alien Stompers throughout the forthcoming film. Pulled from the archive and built upon Reebok Basketball’s iconic BB4000 II frame, the Reebok Alien Romulus features an all-leather upper, distressed film-worn finish along with a Weyland-Yutani logo on the tongue and heel. The EVA foam midsole, and a solid rubber cupsole with a grippy traction pattern provides extra grip, perfect for bug hunting, or stomping in this case.

You’ll soon be able to embrace your dark side with the new Marvel Comics x KITH x ASICS Super Villains sneaker collection. Ronnie Fieg has teased on Twitter about KITH’s latest collab with ASICS, which is all about Marvel’s iconic supervillains.

This isn’t their first rodeo together — they wowed us last year with an X-Men and Naruto-themed collection. This time, the spotlight shines on the bad guys, with designs inspired by the likes of Silver Surfer, Spider-Man, Venom, Green Goblin, and Magneto, spread across the GEL-KAYANO 14, GT-2160, and GEL-1130 models.

Currently, Ronnie Fieg and ASICS are keeping quiet about the exact release dates. However, according to the San Diego Comic-Con Unofficial Blog, pairs will first be made available at PSA’s event booth (#700) on Thursday and Friday.

In celebration of the theatrical release of Deadpool & Wolverine across the globe this week, adidas Originals revealed its first Deadpool-inspired collection. The collection consists of two themed Rivalry Low shoes, an adizero Electric cleat, graphic tees and an adidas Originals silhouette worn in the film.

The collection carries distinct detailing of Deadpool and Wolverine’s iconic characters, including tongue-and-cheek jokes on sock liners, censored language characters, and storage pouches on the Deadpool-inspired Rivalry Low and adizero Electric cleat—nodding to the seemingly excessive amount of pouches the ‘Merc with a Mouth’ keeps on his costume. The Wolverine-inspired Rivalry Low includes colour blocking as homage to the classic yellow Wolverine Super Hero suit, which finally makes its in-film debut.

We already know a few geeks who will buy both pairs of Rivalry Low sneakers to pair up Deadpool and Wolverine on each side.

Following the success of Owndays‘ previous collaboration with the iconic Mobile Suit Gundam anime back in 2020, it is now back once again with one of the universe’s key nations – the Principality of Zeon.

The key highlight with this year’s collaboration is the limited run Owndays Zaku Head Case, an eyewear case modelled after Char’s custom MS-06S Zaku II. It features a magnetic detachable blade antenna (a symbol of the commander rank) and a light-up monoeye with activation sound effect. There are only 2,500 Zaku Head Cases available worldwide of which only 180 will be sold in Singapore, priced at S$498. The rest of the units will be sold via Owndays in Australia, Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Phillippines, Malaysia, Cambodia and United Arab Emirates.

Accompanying the Head Case are two pairs of Zeon spectacles (red and khaki), priced at S$198 each, and two pairs of Zeon sunglasses (red and khaki), priced at S$78 each. Every pair of Zeon glasses comes with an exclusive spectacle case featuring the emblem of the Principality of Zeon gleaming against a luxe black faux-leather material, along with a matching spectacle cloth.

From 4 to 5 May, Science Centre Singapore is set to host its inaugural Star Wars Day celebration as part of the Sci-Fi Fiesta. This year, the event is organised by #MAYTHE4THSG, a group of Star Wars enthusiasts who not only celebrate the saga but also use the occasion to contribute to charity. With 2024 being their 10th year of celebrations, we’ve been on the ground as well capturing most of the action! This year’s festivities include a variety of engaging activities such as a Build-a-Lightsaber Workshop, where guests can create lightsabers using everyday household materials, and the Fightsaber Academy, offering lightsaber training for children aged 12 and under. Attendees can also participate in Toy Photography workshops, join thrilling bounty hunts, and purchase exclusive ‘May the 4th Be With You’ merchandise, with all proceeds going to charity. Admission to the event is complimentary and will be held at the Annexe Foyer of the Science Centre.

The Sci-Fi Fiesta, running from 1 to 5 May, promises a journey through science fiction with interactive stations that ignite curiosity about its connection to real-world science and innovation. Visitors can explore fascinating organisms that seem like they belong in a sci-fi movie, unleash their inner engineer by designing their own spacecraft, or demystify the technology behind invisibility cloaks using principles of light reflection and lenticular lenses. These activities are included with a regular admission ticket to Science Centre Singapore.

LEGO Star Wars Pop-up Event (Wisma Atria)

This Star Wars Day 2024, LEGO is marking the 25th anniversary of its LEGO Star Wars series with a pop-up event at Wisma Atria, running from 1 to 19 May. The event promises a blend of LEGO play and iconic Star Wars moments, allowing fans to build their own galactic stories. At this pop-up, attendees can explore new 25th-anniversary products like the 75382 LEGO Star Wars TIE Interceptor building set. Alongside the excitement of new releases, fans will enjoy special promotions and exclusive gift-with-purchase options.

Set to be a fan’s haven, the LEGO Star Wars pop-up is complete with statues of beloved characters like Stormtroopers and Darth Vader, and a LEGO diorama by Titan Creations. Hot Toys Singapore (Bugis Junction)

Hot Toys, a renowned Hong Kong production house known for its detailed collectible merchandise, commenced Star Wars Day celebrations early with the grand opening of its first Southeast Asian store on 26 April. Located on the third floor of Bugis Junction in Singapore and powered by Action City, the store introduces a vast range of Hot Toys’ collectibles to the region. These include 1/6th and 1/4th scale figures along with the smaller 3” and 6” Cosbaby and Cosbi blind box series, such as the exclusive Star Wars Hologram Cosbi Bobble-head Collection. Noteworthy at the opening was the debut of several exclusives, such as the Star Wars 1/6th scale Umbara ARC Trooper, available first in Southeast Asia, and more Star Wars-themed merchandise.

The event attracted a festive crowd from 11 am, with activities that highlighted the interactive nature of fandom. These included a costumed march by the 501st Legion, where attendees posed with the iconic Star Wars stormtroopers. A significant highlight was the special promotion allowing fans to pre-order select Star Wars figures, BT-1, Lord Starkiller, and Darth Revan, with this offer being exclusive to Singapore until 15 May.

Uniqlo UT x Star Wars Remastered by Kosuke Kawamura

In celebration of Star Wars Day 2024, Uniqlo’s UT line is collaborating with renowned Japanese collage artist Kosuke Kawamura to unveil a special collection. This collaboration revitalises vintage Star Wars posters, infusing them with Kawamura’s distinct style to create a new series of vintage-inspired graphic t-shirts.

Scheduled for release in Singapore on 29 April, the collection comprises six oversized tees. Drawing inspiration from original posters and artworks from Star Wars Episodes I, IV, V, and VI, Kawamura has crafted designs that merge the classic and contemporary. Uniqlo has officially launched its first-ever Harry Potter UT apparel collection, featuring designs inspired by the beloved wizarding world.

Priced at S$19.90 each, the shirts are available on the Uniqlo website and stores in sizes ranging from XS to 3XL, starting from 26 April. This collection celebrates the magical elements of the Harry Potter universe, including wands, spells, and the Sorting Hat. Fans can choose from six unique designs that capture the essence of witchcraft and wizardry, with each shirt featuring the colours and insignias of one of Hogwarts’ four houses.


The Japanese retailer’s new collection, themed around the iconic Hogwarts houses – Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin – debuted at an enchanting event at The Wizard’s Brew, Singapore’s first wizard-themed bar and dessert spot. Attendees were treated to a preview of the collection accompanied by magical-themed tapas and innovative drinks crafted by the enchanting venue’s own team of wizard mixologists.

Puma is embarking on a quest to combine athleisure wear with gaming, and it’s taking Sony Interactive Entertainment along for the ride. The Puma X PlayStation collection will bring both worlds together in the form of apparel, footwear, and other accessories starting 18 April.

Ranging from S$35 to S$179, it comprises 15 offerings themed after the brand’s logo, colour scheme, and design stylings. Graphic t-shirts, full-length and sleeveless hoodies, shorts, a track jacket, a body bag, and a cap make up the majority of the lineup, with PlayStation detailing, debossed prints, and gradient tones adorning new renditions of the Suede and RS-X sneakers.

CAPCOM celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2023, and to commemorate the milestone, UT’s Creative Director, Kosuke Kawamura, has selected seven game titles from CAPCOM’s many works to create an anniversary collection available only at UNIQLO.

Additionally, Uniqlo collaborated with Shibuya Pixel Art to create a limited edition UT ADVENTURE Mini Arcade Machine exclusively for UT. UT ADVENTURE is an “action shopping game” in which the main character must battle aliens to recapture stolen CAPCOM 40th UT items. The mini arcade machine will include Stage 1, Stage 2 and Stage 3 (exclusive to the mini arcade machine) of the UT ADVENTURE game.

Stage 1, known as UNIQLO Earth Store uses a UNIQLO store as the setting and features appearances from Street Fighter characters. The game has a retro feel reminiscent of those released four decades ago when CAPCOM was founded, with content that can be enjoyed by a wide variety of players, both those who enjoyed playing games during this era, and those who are less familiar with 8-bit games.

Stage 2, known as UNIQLO Space Store scheduled for release very soon will be a collaboration with Mega Man.

Stage 3, the conclusion of UT ADVENTURE, will be revealed exclusively through a mini arcade game machine. There are only 40 units of these limited edition mini arcade machines made globally, and we are giving you a chance to win ONE, along with a T-shirt of your choice! As artistic director of ComplexCon Hong Kong 2024, renowned Japanese artist Verdy, perhaps best known as the current artistic director of K-pop act Blackpink, unveiled an exclusive merchandise collection and a vibrant pop-up store with McDonald’s Hong Kong, blending culinary delights with cultural artistry with this collaboration. The pop-up, adorned with his iconic character Vick, offered a unique experience with McDonald’s classics such as the McNuggets and Hotcakes reimagined with specially designed food packaging. Additionally, exclusive Verdy-designed McDonald’s merchandise such as sweatshirts, T-shirts and bandanas were sold on-site. Set for release on 26 March, there were also online pre-orders for a world-exclusive McDonald’s x Verdy Vick’s Collector’s Set (4 figurines) sold at HK$480, which included a free 18pcs Chicken McNuggets meal with four limited-time dipping sauces.

Verdy, also famed for his contributions to the Wasted Youth and Girls Don’t Cry collections, brought these exclusive items to the ComplexCon Gift Shop, where attendees were able to snag limited edition Girls Don’t Cry merchandise. 

Following their 2023 Worlds Championship victory, South Korean Esports team T1’s celebrated mid-laner, Faker, and creative force VandyThePink, revealed their second apparel collaboration at ComplexCon Hong Kong. This latest collection showcased VandyThePink’s bold graphics, featuring a unique burger mascot and an original depiction of Faker in his element on a gaming chair. The duo’s creative synergy breathes life into a wide array of merchandise, including tees, hoodies, varsity jackets, trucker caps, tote bags, and bag charms. Additionally, they have also joined forces with Singapore’s Secretlab, to launch a co-branded gaming chair, which attendees could stand a chance to win after purchasing merchandise from the newest collection.

Global K-pop girl group Blackpink also reunited with Japanese contemporary artist Takashi Murakami for a captivating capsule collection, making its debut at ComplexCon Hong Kong. The In Your Area collection introduces 15 exclusive pieces, including a special edition Blackpink light stick crafted by Murakami, and a ComplexCon-exclusive shirt, available only during the event. The booth, adorned with colourful LED walls, brings Pandakashi, a character created by Murakami, to life with charming animations. This marks the second collaboration between Blackpink and Murakami, following their initial 19-piece Pandakashi collection launched last December.

Forget the catwalk as the future of fashion is interactive, as Hong Kong-based digital fashion initiative FabriX didn’t just showcase the next big thing in fashion, they actually built it. Their interactive booth, armed with AR (augmented reality) Photo Kiosks, offered attendees an immersive shopping experience, presenting exclusive digital designs from select designers and brands from Hong Kong, China, and beyond.

Artist Chloe Chen‘s distinctive artistic vision truly stood out at ComplexCon Hong Kong. Beginning her art career at just eight years old, Chen’s booth offered an intimate glimpse into her creative universe. On display were her notable works: Fictional Self, Fantasy Shopping Bag, Nightmare Robot, and Spinning Girl. Each piece acted as a portal, drawing viewers into a world where the lines between dreams and reality blur, hinting at the evolving landscape of art.

Acclaimed art toy brand from New York, ToyQube, boasted collaborations with a Who’s Who of designers, artists, and high-profile brands worldwide, including The Bathing Ape, Billionaire Boys Club, and celebrities such as Kid Cudi and Katy Perry, not to mention a fruitful partnership with Tezuka Productions for their Astro Boy series. Visitors were treated to an extraordinary sight: a collaboration with artist Offgod on a giant inflatable sculpture, and a not-to-be-missed official partnership featuring Astro Boy on an RWB classic sports car. With such a diverse and compelling lineup, ToyQube’s booth was a must-visit for collectors eager to enrich their collections with truly distinctive art collectables.

Xiaohongshu’s Instagram-worthy booth, the <2124 REDCORE CLUB>, was envisioned as the sole repository of trendy culture in a post-apocalyptic universe marked by a global blackout in 2124.

Visitors stopped by Red Bull’s booth for a refreshing drink at the bar and seized the opportunity to showcase their basketball skills. The booth featured a basketball court unlike any other, crafted with the distinctive style of Hong Kong-based graffiti artist Xeme.

Smartphone accessory brand CASETiFY teamed up with WON SOJU, the soju brand by Korean rapper Jay Park, to unveil an exclusive collaborative collection of cases for phones, AirPods, and laptops. This partnership is a testament to the seamless integration of traditional cultural elements with cutting-edge technology, showcased through minimalist black-and-white designs that celebrate creativity and craftsmanship. 

ComplexCon Hong Kong 2024 wasn’t just about shopping as the stage also sizzled with a diverse lineup of musical acts. The energy kicked off with the electrifying fusion sounds of 3CORNERZ, a Hong Kong hip-hop group. The party continued with a powerhouse performance from AOMG artists like Simon Dominic, GRAY, and Loco. Finally, British rapper 21 Savage closed out the festival with a chart-topping set.

As ComplexCon Hong Kong wrapped up, it was clear that the event had set the bar for showcasing the intersection of art, culture, and technology. From the innovative showcases by CASETiFY and WON SOJU to the adrenaline-fueled challenges at the Red Bull basketball court, attendees were immersed in a world where creativity knew no bounds. The unique collaborations and interactive booths not only highlighted emerging trends but also celebrated the spirit of global connectivity.

The highly-anticipated Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) Converse fashion collection has finally been revealed, and it’s pretty sick. The collection is a tribute to the popular tabletop game’s origins as it celebrates its 50th anniversary, taking inspiration from the first editions of the Player’s Handbook, Monster Manual, and Dungeon Master’s Guide.

Roll for initiative and kick things off with limited-edition high tops, available in four designs based on D&D icons, like the franchise’s logo and 80s’ action figures. The iconic star patch is also shaped like a 20-sided die, and there’s plenty of easter eggs to spot. The sneakers will also come in a specially-designed box shaped like a Mimic to add to the fun.

And for evil Dungeon Masters who want to ‘torture’ their players more, the collection’s trucker cap sums it up pretty well. Rolling up to your session in themed D&D shirts will certainly add to the atmosphere and a fun addition to your wardrobe with various designs.

It seems like just yesterday that players were first transported into a world of legendary beasts and perilous hunts, but two decades have actually gone by since. As Capcom‘s long-running Monster Hunter franchise turns 20 this year, Seiko is celebrating the milestone with a new limited-edition watch collection.

Inspired by Alatreon, Velkhana, Mizutsune, and Nargacuga monsters, the timepieces will cost around 59,800 yen (US$404 / S$538) apiece, with each model limited to only 2,000 units. Pre-order is now open, and fans have three wrist sizes to choose from: Small (14 cm), Medium (16 cm), and Large (18 cm).

Similar to a previous collaboration in 2019, Seiko’s latest lineup will ship with a special box featuring motifs and designs from each monster — elements that are also present on the watch itself. The Velkhana iteration features a silver metal band and a dial with a graduation colour from ice blue to dark blue, a silver faux leather base, and an engraved icon of the beast on the back cover.

As for the Alatreon model, its all-black aesthetic sports sub-dials with three different designs to express each state change, a dial stamp design inspired by the dragon’s inverted scales, and a black faux leather base.

The Mizutsune theming, meanwhile, comes decked out in a white leather band with dark purple lining, a dial stamp inspired by the monster’s fins and scales, and an ivory faux leather base. In contrast, the Nargacuga watch is lined with a black textured leather band, a gradation colour from black to dark blue, and a black faux fur base.

The new Monster Hunter x Seiko collection is the successor to its 15th anniversary lineup featuring Zinogre, Rathalos, and Nergigante. It retails for 59,800 yen each, with shipping scheduled for September.
