Padawan to the “chosen one” Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano was a Togruta female that played a key role during the Clone Wars and in the animation of the same name. Since then, her growth from a headstrong Padawan to a Jedi outcast has made her extremely popular, becoming one of the most beloved characters in the franchise.
Thanks to Disney+ and Rosario Dawson’s take on Ahsoka Tano in The Mandolorian Season 2, the character had received even more love and attention from the fans that a spin-off series was officially confirmed.
With her own live-action series in the making, all that’s left for us is a worthy collectable that’ll let us carry her name in our hearts, and nothing can slice or spice things up like her lightsaber. Thanks to the folks at Hasbro who has been phenomenal in making replicas such as The Mandolorian Helmet, we finally get to wield Ahsoka Tano’s lightsaber.
The Black Series Ahsoka Tano Force FX Elite Lightsaber is a 1:1 scale lightsaber based on the one she was using in Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series. If you’re unfamiliar with the differences, her lightsaber in The Mandolorian (which we want as well, thanks Hasbro!) has a completely different hilt and colour.
While Ahsoka prefers to dual-wield lightsabers, the replica in the box includes only one so you might have to get yourself another one. The trouble here is, it won’t be accurate since the second lightsaber she held was a shoto lightsaber, a shorter version of the regular one.
Like the many lightsaber replicas Hasbro has produced, Ahsoka’s weapon features intricate details and decoration that encapsulates the realism all Star Wars fans and cosplayers love. The product includes the hilt, removable blade, kyber crystal, barrel plugs and a vertical stand.
The metal hilt comes in a shiny silver finish that gives you a sturdy feel and realistic look of the single-bladed lightsaber and features several buttons you can activate for all its different effects. They include a blast-door breaching effect, battle clash effect, progressive ignition effect, and three-colour-changing blade effect.
Yes. You read that right, the Ahsoka lightsaber comes in three changeable colours of blue, green and yellow-green. This is a nod to all the different coloured lightsabers that she held during the Clone Wars including the shoto lightsaber which was yellow-green coloured.
To revel in the full form of the lightsaber, you’ll have to make sure you have three AA batteries and one LR6 battery to light up beauty. Afterwhich, make sure the kyber crystal is removed from the hilt so you can fit the blade in. Once you’ve made sure the blade is locked in with the barrel plugs, fire up the lightsaber and have some blast-deflecting saber swinging fun.
The process does come across like a bit of work, so have a look at the video above to get an idea what you’re getting into.
Since the blade is “battle-ready”, become a Jedi like Ahsoka or become Ahsoka herself and swing your blade against those who own “battle-ready” lightsabers and would look upon the Dark side.
However, if you’re not a big fan of swinging around the rather costly lightsaber, the stand is a great alternative for those who enjoy appreciating their Star Wars replicas on display. The kyber crystal, which can be lighted up after charging with the hilt makes an exceptional display piece alongside the lightsaber.
The lightsaber in summary is another awesome add-on and a must-have for those who own a lightsaber collection and is the ultimate perfect companion for your Ahsoka Tano cosplay.
The Black Series Ahsoka Tano Force FX Elite Lightsaber is available for pre-order on The Falcon’s Hangar for S$405 (starts shipping on 1 June in Singapore) and Hasbro Pulse for US$249.99 (starts shipping on 1 August in the U.S.).
