Adventuring and battling to be the very best like no one ever was have always been a staple across the Pokémon series, but the first trailer for Netflix’s forthcoming Pokémon Concierge dishes out the reminder that it’s alright to take a break and relax sometimes.
Oozing plenty of wholesome and adorable charm, it offers a tantalising tease into life in a tropical resort built for critters to enjoy some much-needed downtime. The stop-motion series stars Haru (Karen Fukuhara), a young concierge working at the holiday destination who goes about satisfying different demands of its many Pokémon guests, while figuring how to get along with co-workers Alisa (Imani Hakim) and Tyler (Josh Keaton).
Longtime fans can also expect to catch appearances from beloved fan favourites, including Eevee, Snorlax, Dedenne, Pikachu, Wooper, Psyduck, Mudkip, Dragonite, Bulbasaur, and more. If it wasn’t clear before, the show will feature a new, original story — made in partnership with Dwarf Studios, who previously worked on similarly cosy works like Rilakkuma and Kaoru. “Have a Good Time Here” by renowned Japanese artiste Mariya Takeuchi will serve as the theme song.
Pokémon Concierge hits Netflix on 28 December, so it won’t be long before we can live vicariously through these Pokémon and enjoy the resort experience, because let’s be real, who wouldn’t want this life?
